The Project
"You’ve proven yourself once; can you prove it again?" While we believed we had demonstrated our capabilities on our first project, our team felt this was our true test. With building permits delaying the project’s start, we knew early trades would be under pressure. For us, this meant showing up every day committed to maximizing our productivity and supporting one another.
Our Approach
Our approach to this project centered on Ownership, Speed, and Reliance. Given the delays, we prioritized alleviating pressure on Traugott to complete the building as quickly as possible. Whether it meant starting earlier or staying later, our mission was to help expedite the schedule and make up for lost time. This commitment also required us to take on additional responsibilities and support other trades whenever we could.
The Challenges
Given our proximity to Lake Simcoe, unpredictable weather fluctuations posed a significant challenge. Despite forecasts predicting clear skies, our team often found itself working in the rain. With concrete waiting to be poured, our crew had to endure the elements to keep the project on track. Additionally, with the trench footings fully excavated, leaving any section of the trench open was far from ideal. This situation led to flooded trenches and further delays, as we had to pump out the water before we could resume work.
Key Takeaway
Together, we can achieve more.
Successful projects hinge on the understanding that all parties are united by a common goal: finishing the job on schedule. By adopting this perspective, we treated every individual on site as a partner, prioritizing collaboration to help each trade fulfill their responsibilities.
