iPort Cambridge - Buildings A1 & A2
Cambridge, Ontario
The Project
As this marked our company's first project, it will always hold a special significance for us and our team. We understood the importance of proving to Traugott that we were the most capable company for the job, confirming their confidence in choosing us. This meant investing countless hours, both on-site and off-site, to not only meet but exceed the schedule requirements.
Our Approach
Our approach for this project centred on Collaboration, Teamwork, and Communication. Recognizing that all parties shared the common goal of completing the project according to the given schedule, we closely collaborated with trade foremen, site superintendents, and project managers to ensure everyone remained informed at every stage. This approach also meant being prepared for difficult conversations when things did not go as planned.
The Challenges
From the start, this project presented challenges at all ends. From water issues and permit complications to unpredictable weather fluctuations, it seemed as though the obstacles were endless. Commencing during the harsh winter months, our team anticipated weather-related delays. However, the erratic winter weather led to ground freeze-thaw cycles, leading to significant water accumulation and ground instability. The site was constantly flooded, and the building pad was almost impassable due to the thick mud.
